Jamaican Mafia movie premiere cancelled

Jamaican Mafia movie premiere cancelled

KINGSTON, Jamaica — The sold out Jamaican Mafia movie premiere that was supposed to be held last night at the Sunrise Multiplex Cinemas, Valley Stream in New York never happened.

Promoters Irie Jam, Thursday morning, are in a quandary about what actually caused the cancellation of the premiere.

“We are deeply sorry for what transpired last night but the decision to cancel the event was out of our control” said Bobby Clarke, CEO Irie Jam radio, 93.5 FM. Irie Jam assisted the production company, Donzo Productions, with the radio promotions of the event.

In an interview on Irie Jam radio this morning it is being reported that a technician fell ill –among the numerous speculations are heart attack and a stroke.

“We were told that Donzo was transporting the only copy of the movie en route to the theatre [when the technician fell ill]. We are truly sorry and will work with Donzo Productions to ensure that ticket holders with proof of purchase get a full refund as expeditiously as possible. The fact is that Irie Jam Radio and Irie Jam Media Group have had a distinguished record of producing successful events in the community for well over 20 years,” said Clarke.

“We would not do anything to intentionally harm, or bring into disrepute the credibility and integrity of our company,” he added.
