The ‘Universe’ Appeal
Fumbled interviews notwithstanding, there were some fine moments and glam outfits, on and off stage, at last Saturday’s staging of the Hyundai Miss Universe Jamaica pageant held at Jamaica College’s Karl Hendrickson Auditorium.
Twenty-one-year-old Kaci Fennell, who wore the sash ‘Miss Sandcastles’, outshone her 18 competitors to snag the crown and a prize package that included a spanking new Hyundai i10 auto, $250,000 cash, a scholarship to Caucasus University, and a $1-million wardrobe for the international pageant scheduled for December at an undetermined location.
Our lens captured pageant-loving patrons out for the event.
