Cops, civilians freed in Kentucky Kid killing
KINGSTON, Jamaica — The three cops and two civilians accused of the 2009 shooting death of entertainer Robert ‘Kentucky Kid’ Hill were freed Tuesday afternoon in the Home Circuit Court.
Director of Public Prosecutions Paula Llewellyn told the court that she was withdrawing the case as there was no evidence linking the five to the murder of Hill.
Following a ruling by presiding Coroner Patrick Murphy last month warrants were ordered to be issued for the arrest of the five — all of whom were absent at the time of the verdict.
The cops have been identified as Special Corporal Uriel Anderson, Constable Gary Thomas and Special Constable Norval Warren.
The two civilians Marvia Morgan and Donovan Brown were also slapped with similar charges.
