Palmyra gives back
PALMYRA Foundation recently donated several books and stationery supplies to Port Antonio Infant School as part of a US$40,000 initiative to distribute items to more than 60 early childhood institutions across the island.
Under its ‘Books for Kids’ initiative, the foundation is aiming to deliver books to approximately 6,500 children between the ages of four and five.
Acting principal at Port Antonio Infant School, Jennifer Buchanan was very appreciative of the donation, which the school is receiving for the fourth year.
“We have found the books very appropriate and manageable as they act as reinforcement to what the children have been taught,” she told the Jamaica Observer North East, even as she urged others to contribute to the institution.
“We ask that they continue to support the school in whatever way they can and for other persons, who are able, to come on board to give assistance because there is still much more to do,” she said.
