Semi-final places at stake in Urban High Schools Netball
TEAMS will continue their quest for places in the semi-finals of the 2014 Inter-Secondary Schools Sports Association (ISSA) Urban High Schools Junior and Senior Leagues today at the Leila Robinson Courts, starting at 1:30 pm.
Today marks the third round of matches for all the teams contesting the second round with two more matches to complete the round.
The Queen’s School should not have too much trouble defeating Alpha Academy, who have lost two matches in the second round. They are expected to go on another goal-scoring spree. This game begins at 2:15 pm.
Norman Manley have won both their matches to date and will be looking for their third against Excelsior High, who have lost one and drawn the other. Norman Manley should come out winners. Game time is 1:30 pm.
Meanwhile, in the Senior League, the unbeaten teams are defending champions The Queen’s School, St Hugh’s High, Holy Childhood High, St Catherine High and Alpha Academy.
The Queen’s should easily get the better of St Andrew, who have won one and lost one. This game is scheduled to begin at 3:15 pm.
Holy Childhood are expected to beat the Dalton Hinds-coached Gaynstead High, who have lost both matches in this round. Match time is 2:15 pm.
The Phyliss Thompson-coached St Catherine High should have a keen duel with the Wayne Stewart-coached Camperdown High, who are still in the hunt for a berth in the semis. Starting time is 3:00 pm.
Other games on in the Junior League are Immaculate Conception vs St Catherine; Excelsior vs Norman Manley; Holy Childhood vs Gaynstead; Campion College vs Jonathan Grant at 1:30 pm; Camperdown vs Meadowbrook at 2:15 pm.
Senior League matches are Campion College vs Jonathan Grant at 2:15 pm, and Alpha Academy vs Tarrant High at 3:15 pm.
