Western cross-country meet on today
TREASURE BEACH, St Elizabeth – SOME 25 western-based high schools are expected to participate in today’s staging of the County of Cornwall Athletics Association’s (COCAA) Cross-Country Championships at the Treasure Beach Sports Complex in south St Elizabeth, according to the organisers of the event.
Stephen Smith, president of COCAA told Jamaica Observer West earlier this week that the organising committee had already received entries from 13 schools. With registration expected to continue until just before the 10:00am start of the meet, entries should swell to roughly the same as last year’s event that was hosted by Petersfield High in Westmoreland.
There will be three age groups for both male and female — Under-14, Under-16 and Under-19 — during the event, which will see four races being contested.
