St Georges defeat JC 3-2 to take 2014 Walker Cup
KINGSTON, Jamaica — St Georges College beat Jamaica College 3-2 to claim the 2014 Walker Cup title a short while ago in the battle of the blues at the Constant Spring football field in St Andrew.
The light blues took an early lead with Shevon Stewart knocking home in the 11th minute, and doubled the score in the 25th with a penalty by Gregory Messam Jr.
On a wet and soggy field St Georges went three up through Omoy Brown in the 42nd minute to end the half 3-0.
Jamaica College chasing a record four titles this year drew one back through a Junior Flemmings penalty in the 48th minute.
Flemmings returned late in the game to make it 3-2 but an equalizer never came.
St Georges have now taken a record nine Walker Cup tiles, easing away from North Street rivals Kingston College on eight.
