Accused cop killer remanded
MANDEVILLE, Manchester — The St Catherine man charged with the murder of Manchester-based police constable Orville Preddie was remanded when he appeared in court Monday.
The accused, Steve Larmond of a Central Village in St Catherine, was booked to reappear in court on February 25 when the case will again be mentioned.
The Manchester police said four other persons were still being sought in connection with the policeman’s death.
Preddie, 34, who was buried Sunday, was laid to rest on Sunday, was earlier this month relaxing with friends at a bar in the community of Farm in South Manchester when gunmen entered the premises. He was reportedly shot and killed after the criminals found him with his police identification card while they were robbing patrons.
