Alleged trickster charged with fleecing man
ST CATHERINE, Jamaica — A man is now before the Spanish Town Resident Magistrate’s Court for allegedly taking money from a man whom he failed to deliver a motorcar to as reportedly agreed.
Accused Donald Williams pleaded not guilty to charges of larceny by trick and creating public mischief when he appeared in court on Tuesday.
The public mischief charge stems from allegation that Williams gave the complainant his licence to keep until he (Williams) hand over the car then report the document stolen.
Police reports are that Williams collected $80,000 from the complaint promising him that he will deliver the motorcar.
Williams’ bail was extended until his next court date of March 17.
