Disc jockey/sound system selector Fire Wayne has moved into music production with his debut ‘riddim’, the Kool Breeze.

The recently released beat has songs by mainly budding acts and some established artistes.

Produced by Fire Wayne’s Echo One Production, Kool Breeze features The Boss (Yuh Fi Ride) by Serani, Caan Do Mi Nothin at All by T-Nez; Da Connection (D’Angel); I Like Her (Navino); Bubble Up (Bencil); Who See Dem (D’Koncep); Enemy (Melloquence); Pretend Like Yuh Dead (Gangoolie); and Money to Me Safe (Hollow Point).

Twenty-four year-old Fire Wayne, whose real name is Dwayne Cousins, has been a disc jockey for the past 12 years. He occupies the 2:00 to 6:00 pm slot on Suncity 104.9 FM.

“I started playing music from I knew myself but really started getting serious about it at the age of 10 when I started my own sound system called Echo One Sound in Clarendon,” Fire Wayne told the Jamaica Observer.

He has made a name as a disc jockey on Portmore’s Suncity, becoming one of the fledgling station’s popular hosts.

“Working there has helped me to perfect my craft and to become a well-rounded disc jockey. I’ve been there three years now and it has been a good experience,” Fire Wayne noted.

Echo One Production is scheduled to release another ‘riddim’ (Universal Love) in April.
