Photographer injured in NWC manhole
A photographer is now suffering from injuries he received after falling into an uncovered National Water Commission (NWC) manhole in Montego Bay on Sunday.
Michael Sloley, who was on assignment at the time, said that he was not aware of the presence of the manhole.
“There was a peace march in Granville and I went to cover it. I parked the vehicle and joined the march. In the night when I came back I didn’t realise that there was a manhole there. The rain was falling, I didn’t see it,” he said.
According to Sloley, the uncovered manhole is located on a sidewalk in the vicinity of Sam Sharpe Teachers’ College.
Sloley said he had to seek medical attention at a private doctor.
He said he went down on one leg, hit his knee and elbow. “I jerk my back, I am still feeling pain,” he told the Jamaica Observer.
Yesterday, he said that he was writing a letter to the NWC on the incident.
