Lottery scammer awaiting extradition to US
ST JAMES, Jamaica – Twenty-eight-year-old Davion Barnett of Hendon in Norwood, here, is awaiting extradition to the United States after waiving his right for an extradiction hearing Wednesday.
Barnett, who was wanted by the United States Justice system for his involvement in lottery scamming, was arrested on an extradition warrant last Thursday.
The St James resident was implicated in the lottery scam matter with Oneike Barnett, who has since been sentenced to 10 years imprisonment in the United States.
The 28-year-old has been indicted on conspiracy to commit wire fraud, which was filed in the Southern District Court of Florida on August 9, 2012.
When he appeared in court on Monday, the matter was postponed until today, at which time he waived his right.
