THE Kingston and St Andrew Football Association (KSAFA) Alliance Investments/McKay Security 2015 Under-20 football competition got off to a rollicking start with an 11-goal bundle in the opening salvo of matches on Wednesday.

Tivoli Gardens led the way in Zone B with a 5-0 spanking of Central Kingston at the Edward Seaga Sports Complex, while defending champions Bull Bay edged New Kingston 1-0 at Bull Pen.

In Zone A action, Santos stopped a plucky August Town 2-0 in the feature game of the round at Bell-Chung Oval with goals from Rahjai Gardener in minutes 21 and 47.

Despite coming out victors, Santos coach Carlton Dennis was displeased with the discipline of the team.

“No, I am not pleased with the performance of the team… we won because we were more organised than the other team. Some of our players were not here today and hope for the second game we can get ourselves together and move forward,” he said.

In the other Zone A game, Real Mona carved a decent 2-1 win against Cavalier at Buttercup Park.

However, the one blip to the opening stanza was the late arrival of August Town for the feature game at the venue against Santos.

A game that was scheduled for a 4:00 pm kick-off eventually got off at 4:30 pm with the visiting team arriving at 4:20 pm due to what coach Kenneth Wilson deemed transportation problems.
