Race on for Western Confed Super League mid-season final
FROME, Westmoreland — The race for places in the mid-season final of the Jamaica Football Federation Charley’s JB Rum Western Confederation Super League was thrown wide open after Savannah SC upset leaders Sandals Whitehouse 1-0 in their rescheduled game played at Frome on Thursday.
Michael Kerr scored his seventh goal of the season in the 25th minute to lead Savannah SC to the win that moved them back to second place on 23 points, one behind Sandals Whitehouse.
Sandals Whitehouse had gone into the game needing only a point to qualify for the mid-season final, but went down to their second loss in the last three rounds.
With one round of matches to go, four teams — Sandals Whitehouse, Savannah SC, Wadadah FC and Granville FC — are all in with a chance of qualifying for the mid-season final.
