Because of the proliferation of restaurants and hotels and the continued lack of pest control, large rats, medium-sized, small, black, and grey rats have taken over New Kingston.

A friend of mine was invited by her daughter to have lunch at a restaurant on Chelsea Avenue. They placed an order and, while consuming the meal, her daughter felt something run over her foot. She looked down, and to her astonishment she saw a large rat

Now, bear in mind this incident took place about 1:30 in the afternoon in a very crowded place. So can you imagine what must be taking place in the dead of night.

They were both so traumatised that they got up and left the restaurant immediately, and they both wondered what risks they had been exposed to, even though the meal was so delicious.

Her fret level was even more raised when a coworker reminded them that rat secretions are responsible for many sudden deaths from leptospirosis
