V-Day Options in MoBay and Kingston
From Kingston to MoBay and all stops in-between, Valentine’s Day is reserved as a day to celebrate love, and food is one of the best ways to express that love. Sweet treats readily come to mind — the belief that the ‘feel-good’ emotion while enjoying that sweet treat will be tied to the giver is what it’s all about.
Thursday Life sought out some purveyors for your consideration. Our first ‘sweet stop’, Decadent Catering Services with Chef Kenya Royes, tantalised our taste buds with delicious treats that are perfect for a romantic evening.
“The soft touches and textures are intended to bring about a more subdued and comforting mood after a more robust dinner, to set the mood for the rest of the evening,” Chef Royes explained.
Our second stop took us to My Tidbits Pastries and Cakes, where we caught up with confectioner Elizabeth Toby. Her creations were not only sweet but had stronger textures and flavourings, inspiring the ‘hot and heavy’ feeling.
“I wanted to recreate that flutter, that strong, overwhelming feeling you have when you are with or just thinking about that special person,” Toby explained.
Whatever your choice is this Valentine’s Day, just remember, food is the language of love and however you choose to express it, we are sure you will find the perfect mix to communicate to that special someone just how you feel.
