Eat Smart, Live Smart!
EAT Smart, Live Smart is the overall message of the Smart Eggs campaign as the company encourages people to incorporate smart choices into their lifestyle. February is Heart Health Month and Smart Eggs has teamed up with health coach Krissy Scott to share with consumers how they can become more heart-healthy.
Thursday Life (TL): How do you prepare your Smart Eggs?
Krissy Scott (KS): I incorporate one whole and one egg white scrambled with a splash of hot pepper.
TL: Why do you use Smart Eggs?
KS: The diet of the laying hen matters and Smart Eggs clearly did their research. Smart Eggs has six times the average level of Omega 3s than regular eggs found in the local market and through research we know that this helps to decrease our risk of heart disease.
TL: What’s your interpretation of the tag line ‘Eat Smart, Live Smart’ ?
KS: Scheduling time for daily activities, minimising stress and making smart, balanced meal choices that include protein and vegetables.
TL: Is the yolk of the egg good for your heart?
KS: The yolk contains most of the nutrients found in the egg. It contains the majority of the copper, nearly all of the calcium, iron, folate, and B6, and 100% of the vitamins A and E. It is good for your bones, eyes, skin and your heart. So go ahead and enjoy the yolk!
