BIGGA ambassador — Soft drink brand inks deal with Javon Francis
BIGGA Soft Drink, flagship brand of The Wisynco Group Limited, has has signed teenage track sensation Javon Francis, it was announced recently.
Dubbed ‘Donkey Man’ for his galloping burst of speed like a thoroughbred on the race track, Francis — a master at 200m and 400m — caught the eyes of the world while anchoring Jamaica to a silver medal in the 4x400m at the 2013 IAAF World Championships in Moscow.
Francis, starting his lap in fifth place, galloped to 44.00 seconds to power Jamaica to a second place finish.
Before his exploits on the international stage, Francis was already well known in Jamaica as strong performer on the track, leading some to even think he could be the next Usain Bolt.
On the partnership with BIGGA, Francis expressed delight that Wisynco would see him fit to be a brand ambassador for the company. “This partnership is a big moment for me, and I’m proud that they see such potential in me,” Francis said. “BIGGA Soft Drink is a Jamaican brand and I am more than happy to be a part of any initiative to push brand Jamaica to the world,” the quarter-miler continued.
Brand manager for BIGGA Soft Drink, Kimberly Lawson, was elated to have completed the deal to have Francis as an ambassador for the brand.
“Javon is someone that we have been monitoring for some time now. Learning of his background and the obstacles he’s faced, we’ve watched him develop into a fine young athlete with vast potential,” Lawson shared.
“The Wisynco Group Limited has over the years stayed true to its mantra of improving the lives of the Jamaican people, and when an opportunity comes around to harness the talents and gifts of these lives, we have to do our part. “Javon’s talent, energy and passion for what he does, and why he does it, suggests to us at the Wisynco Group that he’s a star in the making and the perfect fit BIGGA Soft Drink.”
Francis’ commitment with The Wisynco Group will see him receive hydration products for his training and development over a period of two years, among other incentives.
