Faulkland FC score another big win
MONTEGO BAY, St James — Faulkland FC continued their high-scoring ways in the St James Football Association Sandals/ATL Division One after coming from behind to beat Irwin FC 5-1 at Jarrett Park on Monday.
The team that was coming off a 6-0 thrashing of Salt Spring in the previous game have scored 17 goals in their four games played well ahead of the next best, Clubs Stars, who have scored 10 goals in three games.
Also on Monday, Copperwood FC and Seaview FC scored 2-0 victories over Revelations FC and Paradise FC, respectively, to move up in the points table.
Faulkland FC lead with 10 points, followed by Copperwood FC on eight, Club Stars on seven, Seaview FC on six, with three clubs — Mountain Villa, Revelations FC and Somerton FC– all on five points each.
At Jarrett Park, Rushayne Bull scored twice in Faulkland FC’s runaway victory, the first coming in the 26th minute to equalise Calwayne Allen’s 12th minute penalty conversion.
Gary Taylor made it 2-0 six minutes into the second half and two minutes later in the 53rd Bull made it 3-1 with his second goal of the game.
Jason Malcolm and Brian Barker both scored their second goals of the season, in the 75th and 83rd minutes, respectively, to lead Faulkland to yet another lopsided victory.
Omar McNeil and Rayon Campbell gave Copperwood FC a 2-0 lead after 14 minutes and they held on to rebound from the upset loss to Westgreen in the Captain’s Bakery and Grill Knockout last week.
Seaview FC, who were relegated from the Senior League last season, stayed in the top four after goals from Clive Fuller in the 15th minute and Oneil Grizzle in the 81st to lead them to their win over Paradise FC at the UDC Field.
