Britjam starts on a good note
SELF-PROCLAIMED King of the Dancehall, Beenie Man, gave an excellent performance at the Spring Rave party held in Montego Bay on Wednesday.
Spring Rave was opening night of the sixth staging of Red Stripe BritJam. It is also the first of 10 over seven days and culminates next Tuesday.
The massive crowd on hand witnessed Beenie Man’s almost hour-long set which included hits including Old Dawg to current favourites such as I’m Ok and Million Gal.
Early segments of musical juggling were handled by the Brothers House from England, who kept the vibe going with EDM selections which found favour with the scores of British nationals inside the venue.
Brothers House made way for Negril’s Macky and Gemini. They delighted patrons by seamlessly segueing into different genres.
DJ Face and Classique rounded out the acts for musical juggling duties.
Montego Bay-based artiste Rickey Teetz opened the live performance segment. His brief set wasn’t complete until he performed 1000 Block.
