Vere, Old Harbour score wins in Clarendon youth league
MAY PEN, Clarendon — Leon Bryant scored a hat-trick as Vere Technical opened their account in Zone B of the Clarendon/INSPORTS John Green Memorial Under-13 competition with a 6-0 thrashing of Kemps Hill at Race Course.
Bryant was on target in the sixth, 20th and 37th minutes, while Erick Thompson (29th, 56th) and Kevon Scott (53rd) added further goals.
Guest team Old Harbour High were also in impressive form on opening day, whipping Central High 5-1 at Bushy Park to move level on points with Vere.
Elsewhere, Glenmuir High needed a last-gasp winner from Chrisvaughn Kirk-Patrick to clip Denbigh High 1-0 in Zone A action at Denbigh.
Meanwhile, in the Under-15 division, Vere Tech completed the double over Kemps Hill after a brace from David Duckworth carried them to a 2-0 win over their south Clarendon rivals.
Old Harbour, with goals from Shaqlain Waul, stopped Central 2-1, while Denbigh rallied for a 1-1 draw with Glenmuir.
