Frass Hill waiting for break
DEEJAY Frass Hill said he is determined to make it in the highly competitive arena of dancehall music.
“My goal in life is to pursue a career in music. Music is my life and I want to get the opportunity to showcase my talent to Jamaica. I have a passion for music and I am very good at it as well,” he told the Jamaica Observer.
The 27-year-old said he is also aware of what it takes.
“The hard work alone can’t work, you have to get promotion. In the music business, it is all about promotion. At the moment, I am around some well- dedicated persons who are helping me and things are looking good for me as well, but it is just for us to continue doing what we are doing. Right now is promotion I need, the real promotion, the real way. I know that anybody that is going to do that promotion is not going to be sorry and not going to lose,” he said.
Last year, Frass Hill recorded two singles Come A Road and She Loves Me. The latter was recorded Adidjahiem/Notice Record Label.
“My sister, Tanesha ‘Shorty’ Johnson really helped me with She Loves Me to get it up and running. I have couple more songs in the pipeline to deal with, but I am working with a good team and hopefully we can deal with them very soon,” he said.
Frass Hill, given name Emilo Johnson, hails from the community of Gregory Park in St Catherine. He attended the Tivoli High School before being transferred to Charlie Smith in Kingston.
“I started out with a little dancing thing with my friends, but liking the whole singing and deejaying thing I decided to make a switch. I really don’t have any regrets. I must also thank my friends, family and the Gregory Park community for their encouragement and guidance, and to my close friend Joseph ‘Black Ants’ Marshall who is always by my side and giving me that little push that I need,” he said.
