KINGSTON, Jamaica — This year’s staging of Kingston City Run (KCR) has now been rescheduled for Sunday, March 22, 2015.

After careful consideration and consultations with various stakeholders, event organisers are moving ahead with plans to host the half-marathon, 10K and 5K competitions this weekend.

“We were very disappointed that we had to postpone the run, especially since we had several participants who flew in from other countries or travelled into the Corporate Area from out of town,” said Christopher Jarrett, co-chair, Kingston City Run Organising Committee.

“Although we understand the new date may be inconvenient for some of our runners, we have carefully reviewed the upcoming race calendar and believe March 22 is the best option at this time,” he explained.

The much-anticipated race, which was originally slated to take place on March 15, had to be suspended due to the effects of the fire at the Riverton City Landfill.

KCR registrants who have not yet picked up their race kits can collect them from the Jamaica Hotel and Tourist Association (JHTA) office, located at 2 Ardenne Road, tomorrow and Friday between 10:00 am to 5:00 pm.
