JAMAICA-BORN, America-based singer Jae Hemmings is currently in the island to shoot the music video for her single Gangsta Lovin.

Produced by T5 Records and released last month, Hemmings said the music video is expected to depict her version of who a ‘gangsta chick’ is.

“It’s really a ride or die chick who will encourage her partner to do what is right. She will encourage him and have his back in any situation,” she said.

Born in Montego Bay, St James, Hemmings started singing at the age of 15.

After completing high school, she migrated to the United States in 2010 to pursue her career while educating herself as a nurse.

“While enrolled at Agusta Technical College in Georgia, I honed my craft by spending numerous hours in the recording studios as music was really my first love. Both careers later became too hectic so I dropped nursing,” she said.

Hemmings operates under her own independent label Jay and Prestige Entertainment.

Among her other singles are Loving Fi Hours, Every Man Dream and Close My Eyes which features dancehall artiste Chi Ching Ching.
