RESIDENTS of St Thomas should by this be bracing themselves for the LIME Futsal revolution, which begins in Morant Bay today.

On a point of history, Morant Bay is best known for the famous rebellion led by Paul Bogle, but the quaint town is poised for yet another major event.

The crowd and the fanfare that are expected at the Rudolph Elder Park for the start of the LIME National Street Futsal competition, could carve its own niche in this historic parish capital.

Starting at 11:00 am, this will be football like it has never been seen before on local soil — smaller fields, smaller goals, pulsating action polished by incredible goals.

Sixteen teams are expected to match skills in the newly introduced event, with the winners at the end of the day, walking away with $150,000 and the runners-up $50,000.

Added to this will be the usual hype, music and giveaways LIME style. And when the games are over and the lights go on, that’s when the real fun begins with the LIME ‘Pop and Brukins Free After Party’. Scheduled to begin at 8:00 pm, fans should be left intoxicated by the performances of entertainers Triple X, Megatron, Supa Hype, Dexta Daps, Chi Ching Ching, among others.

This event is definitely not only a revolution, but an evolution of the popular game paired with continuous music and prizes.
