The tussle for the leadership of the JN/KSAFA Super League between Real Mona and UWI rages on as both registered commanding victories on Saturday.

Real Mona, who have the overall lead in the two-zone competition with 31 points, hammered Allman/Woodford 5-0 to maintain their one-point lead over second-placed UWI (30 points), who dismissed Shortwood 3-1 at the UWI Bowl to stay in touch.

At Bell Chung Oval, a goal each from Chad Bennett, Gah-Seani Wray, Gavin McKay, Leonard Gooden and Hilary Wray helped Real Mona maintain their lead at the top of Zone A, while two goals from the former Waterhouse and Tivoli Gardens player, Akeem Thenstead, and another from Kemoy Atkinson kept UWI a competitive second in Zone A.

Maxfield Park, who beat Real Mona 1-0 the previous weekend, were on the receiving end, this time around when they lost 0-1 to August Town who were also winners against second-placed UWI when Maxfield Park beat Real Mona.

In other matches, Rockfort lost 1-2 to Bull Bay in a close encounter; Santos recovered from a lean spell to beat Rae Town 1-0, while Browns Town clipped Mountain View 1-0.

In Zone A Major League action, Molynes United and Cooreville Gardens drew 2-2, Pembroke Hall beat Stony Hill 1-0, Meadforest edged Maverly/Hughenden 2-1 and Constant Spring pulverised Red Hills 6-1.

In Zone B, Central Kingston beat Greenwich Town 1-0, Seaview Gardens and Olympic Gardens drew 1-1, while Whitfield Town edged Police National 1-0.

Meanwhile, in the Alliance Investments/McKay Security/KSAFA Under-20 football competition, Tivoli Gardens defeated Bull Bay 2-0 in Zone B. In Zone C, Greenwich Town edged Boys’ Town 2-1, while Arnett Gardens drubbed Olympic Gardens. In Zone D, Duhaney Park hammered Constant Spring 4-1, while Pembroke Hall crushed Stony Hill 6-0.
