More protests for NSWMA boss

ST CATHERINE, Jamaica – Staff members from National Solid Waste Management Authority (NSWMA) today protested against the non-renewal of the employment contract of Executive Director Jennifer Edwards.

The protest took place on Burke Road in Spanish Town, St  Catherine. 

This is the second protest reported since NSWMA’s board chairman Steve Ashley announced via a press release last Thursday, that Edwards’ contract would not be renewed after March 26.

Local Government Minister Noel Arscott is expected to meet with the board of the (NSWMA) on Tuesday to discuss Edwards’ separation as executive director and allegations of financial irregularities at the agency.
