Police restrict Wilderness in St Mary T20 Big Bash
POLICE defeated high-riding Wilderness by 80 runs in the feature match of the St Mary Maurice Clarke Big Bash T20 Cricket Competition on Sunday.
In other matches, Mango Valley defeated Galina by five wickets, Trinity Land stopped White Hall by 19 runs, Three Hills defeated Oxford by 15 runs, Boscobel spanked Jack’s River by six wickets and Sandals/Beaches Ocho Rios edged Day’s Mountain by three wickets.
Over at Galina Oval, Police made 103 all out off 15 overs against Wilderness, with Loren Hardware (21 runs), Christopher Faulknor (14) and Ainsworth Aarons (13) the main run-getters, against Hakeem Francis (3-14) and Renar Ross (3-16).
In their turn at the crease, the powerful Wilderness batting line-up was skittled out for a paltry 23 in just eight overs. Katus Lewis (5-11) and Kern Duckett (4-11) were the main destroyers.
Also at Galina, the home team could only manage 69 all out off 12.5 overs. Romaine Gordon (20) and Kevron Douglas (16) were the mainstay of the Galina innings.
Orlando Robinson (4-12) and Nedroy Pinnock (4-18) were the top bowlers.
Mango Valley scored 73-5, with Horace Whitehorne (21) and Kevin Ellis (12) leading the charge against Kevon Douglas’ 4-16.
Trinity Land made 167 for eight off their 20 overs, with Damion Graham cracking 83, well supported by Ralston Smith, who made 32. Bowling for White Hall, Gary Mitchell bagged 5-10. In their turn at the crease, White Hall managed 148 for six off their 20 overs. Fabian Angus 71 and Jermaine Buchanan 43 led the charge, but found Christopher Coke 3-18 too hot to handle.
At Boscobel Oval, Three Hills were bundled out for a paltry 80 off 9.3 overs, with Sanjay Hudson scoring 21 and Johnyine Stanford 14. Kamone Haye took 4-35 and Emile Thomas 4-22. Oxford could only manage 66 all out off 13.2 overs. Everton Byfield stroked 22 and Haye 14. Andre Clarke took 4-21 and Marlon Thompson 3-24.
Playing in front of their home crowd, Boscobel restricted Jack’s River to 169 for nine off 20 overs. Sashane Anderson (41) and Richardo Thompson (29) were the top scorers. Herman Henry took 3-31. Boscobel amassed 160 for four, thanks to Henry’s 55, Randain Bennett’s 36 and Robert Weir’s 30. Sashane Anderson took 2-24.
At Day’s Mountain, the hometeam made 200 all out off 18 overs, with Romeo McDonald (47) and Odaine Hines (43) scoring the bulk of the runs. Delroy Patterson (3-11) and Kagil Earle (2-25) took most wickets for the hotel men.
In their knock, Sandals/Beaches Ocho Rios amassed 201 for seven, thanks to Patterson’s 65 not out, Jesse Alexander’s 38 and Amhal Reid’s 26.
