Dwayne Smith secured a place in next season’s Red Stripe Premier League for Cavalier with a well-taken hat-trick against home team Barbican on Sunday.
Smith, who joined Cavalier from a professional stint in Germany at the opening of the window in January, got off the mark with a free kick nine minutes from the break. He then followed up with two forceful and well-placed headers to leave Barbican reeling from three goals down at the break.
Cavalier started the round in seventh position on 37 points, along with Rivoli United. However, Rivoli, who were ahead on goal difference, went down 0-1 at home to Tivoli Gardens (38 points) to leave the way open for Cavalier to move up the standings with 40 points.
The victory by Cavalier secured sixth position on the standings for them, while defeat for Rivoli saw them slipped to eighth.
