This year’s staging of the Jamaica Employers’ Federation (JEF) Convention will be held for the first time in Montego Bay.

The event which is scheduled for the Montego Bay Convention Centre in Rose Hall, from May 21-24, was launched on Tuesday at the Montego Bay Cultural Centre.

Brenda Cuthbert, CEO of JEF, in her opening remarks said this was the 33rd staging of the event, but noted that it is the first time it will be held in the city of Montego Bay.

“The time is right, we have done three years of research and have concluded that this is the most opportune time and place for the sharing of global best practices in business and management,” she told the gathering.

And in bringing greetings, Montego Bay Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Nathan Robb welcomed the JEF team and sponsors.

“Montego Bay is open for business and Jamaica needs growth prospects, and western Jamaica must be seen as a primary growth area especially for small and medium-sized businesses,” he argued.

Convention Coordinator Yvonne Davis gave an exciting line up of what the four days of jam-packed activities at this world class event will look like.

“Over 40 topics will be delivered with a rich mix of high impact, regional and international presenters under the theme: “Collaborate…Innovate…Opportunities for growth. We will have our opening spectacular, high-impact concurrent sessions, CEO’s luncheon, market place and exposition, executive women’s forum luncheon, top-class entertainment and more,” she stressed.

The convention typically attracts CEOs, general managers, line managers, SMEs, entrepreneurs, industry-wide business professionals, as well as industrial relations and human resource professionals.
