Bowens thrash Black Stars in Clarendon Major League
MAY PEN, Clarendon — Rohan Smith scored a three-timer as New Bowens eased past Black Stars 5-1 in midweek action from the Clarendon/Captain’s Bakery Major League.
Further goals from Jonar Reid and Tanik Brown helped the south-eastern Clarendon side to their first win of the season, which places them at the top of Zone One on four points.
Elsewhere, Lionel Town blanked Kemps Hill 2-0 at Pawsey Park, also for their first win of the campaign.
Javier Brown and Davin McKay got the goals for Lionel Town, who are now level with Comfort, whose game against Jamalco was postponed. Comfort, however, occupy second place courtesy of a better goal difference.
Meanwhile, newcomers Moores United continue to lead the way in Zone Two with maximum six points, three more than former champions Woodhall in second.
