ISSA says it will take action to protect Champs sponsors
KINGSTON, Jamaica – The Inter-Secondary Schools Sports Association (ISSA) in a release just issued says that it is prepared to take legal action against individuals or companies making unauthorized affiliation of their brands with the Boys and Girls Athletics Championships currently underway at the National Stadium.
The following is the ISSA release.
ISSA is warning that such actions are illegal and directly contravenes the rights of approved sponsors of Champs 2015.
ISSA has observed instances where unauthorized individuals and companies have been giving an impression that they are in partnership with the organizers and associated with Champs 2015 by engaging in activity such as sharing of copyright names, images, videos and messages.
The schools’ sports body is calling on those in breach to immediately cease and desist from activities connecting them with the event and pledges to move aggressively to protect the rights of legitimate sponsors.
ISSA reminds the public that only the following approved sponsors have the right to associate their brands with Champs 2015: Grace Kennedy, LIME, Huawei, TVJ, Pepsi/Gatorade and Puma.
