Limited choices for dates of international matches says JFF
KINGSTON, Jamaica – The Jamaica Football Federation (JFF) in a release issued a short while ago says it choices for its recent international friendly matches were limited.
The full text of the JFF’s release.
The Jamaica Football Federation wishes to remind patrons that dates for international friendly matches are set by the international governing body for football, FIFA and are set years in advance.
It is only on these FIFA sanctioned dates that countries can get their international players.
The JFF has profound respect for the annual Track and Field championships and had a choice to either not have a game or to play in the second city, Montego Bay. Playing would allow the coach to continue preparations for upcoming participation in COPA AMERICA and the CONCACAF Gold Cup.
The Reggae Boyz have now won their last four matches played and are looking to continue this momentum into the critical game against Cuba who has also qualified for the Gold Cup and who is also preparing for World Cup qualifiers.
Cuba also beat Dominica Republic 3-0 last week and is also looking to maintain this winning momentum.
The JFF is calling on all fans to come out and support the team at the game to be played Monday, March 30th at 8:00pm at the Montego Bay Sports Complex.
