Police find AK-47 after men flee event in Spanish Town

KINGSTON, Jamaica – The Spanish Town police seized an AK-47 assault rifle containing a magazine with thirteen 7.62 rounds of ammunition in Spanish Town, St Catherine on Sunday.

Reports are that about 11:50 pm, police were on patrol in the community when they arrived at a karaoke event that was in progress.

On their arrival, three men were seen running from the venue onto nearby premises and the police officers chased them.

The men managed to escape but a search of the area led to the seizure of the firearm and ammunition.

Investigations continue.
