MONTEGO BAY, St James — Reggae Youths will seek to slow down leaders Melbourne FC when they meet today at Albion in the St James Football Association Sandals/ATL Senior League, starting at 3:30 pm.

Melbourne FC are on 19 points from eight games at the top of the table and are coming off back-to-back wins. They have five points more than fourth-placed Reggae Youths who have a game in hand.

Reggae Youths trounced Seba FC last time out and this game could set the tone for the rest of the season between two teams that could challenge for the title.

Melbourne FC’s 17 goals are the most by any one team in the competition, but Reggae Youths have only given up three goals so far, tied with Lilliput Rovers for the best defence.

Also today, Seba FC face Catherine Hall at the UDC field, while Norwood Strikers and Lilliput Rovers meet at Wyndham.

Lilliput Rovers are in third place on 15 points from seven games and face a dangerous Norwood Strikers team that will be led by Christopher Johnson, who has scored six of their 12 goals so far.

Both Seba FC and Catherine Hall need a win as they have slipped out of contention.

Seba FC are in eighth place and coming off a 4-0 hammering at the hands of Reggae Youths, while Catherine Hall are just marginally better.
