Park Rovers, Santos, Real Mona, Packers to contest Golden League, KO finals

Defending champion Park Rovers and former champion Santos will contest the league final of the 2015 Bull Investment Limited-sponsored Golden League football competition at 4:30 pm at the NWC playing field, Mona, today.

At 5:45 pm, Real Mona and Packers will meet in the knockout final.

Park Rovers defeated Santos 1-0 in last year’s final and Santos will be looking to turn the tables on their rival this time around.

Both teams played to an exciting 0-0 draw in the quarter-final and the final is expected to be another close affair.

Santos defeated Fusion 1-0 in the semi-final with Ian Burnett scoring, while Park Rovers clipped Kings 2-1 on Wednesday with Woodrow Coleman and Caple Clarke scoring, while Andre Hulong got the consolation for Kings.

Santos will rely on Trevor ‘TC’ Campbell, Brian Leon, Audley Boyd, Ian Burnett, Jeffrey Dillion, Richard Moncrieffe and Wayne Shaw for victory, while Park Rovers will look to Woodrow Coleman, Garfield Cooke, Jerome Wilson, Caple Clarke, Jeffrey James and Cary Wiggan to cop their second straight league title.

Meanwhile, Real Mona defeated Fusion 1-0 in the semi-final with Peter Lee scoring the all-important goal, while Packers defeated Thunderbolts 4-3 in a penalty shoot-out after a 0-0 draw in their semi final match up. Real Mona will look to Mark Miller, Peter Lee, Christopher Williams, Phillip Crimarco, Ian Bond and Roger Bishop for victory, while favourites Packers will rely on Ian Hall, Peter Mullings, Edward Kelly, David Blake, Marshall Redwood, Neville Lindo, Michael Johnson and Mark Scotland for another KO title.

The presentation ceremony will follow the finals.
