FROME, Westmoreland — Sandals Whitehouse came from one goal down to beat Salt Marsh United 2-1 at Davis Pen on Sunday and top the points table as the regular season of the Jamaica Football Federation Charley’s JB Rum Western Confederation Super League came to an end.

Sandals Whitehouse’s 16th win of the season saw them finish on 51 points in their second season in the competition and qualify for the semi-finals for the first time after just missing out last season when they finished in fifth place.

The first leg of the semi-finals will be played on Sunday and Sandals Whitehouse will face former champions Wadadah FC, who finished in fourth place on 42 points after losing 3-1 to Savannah SC at Frome, with Ron Daley scoring a hat-trick in the come-from-behind win.

Second-placed Granville FC (48 points) will face Savannah SC (47 points) in the other semi-final pairing.

On Sunday, Oshane Hunter gave Salt Marsh United the lead after 24 minutes; Travis Davis’s 34th-minute penalty conversion levelled the scores before Andre Vassell’s seventh goal of the season secured the points for Sandals Whitehouse.

At Frome, Javier Peak gave visitors Wadadah FC a dream start in the first minute, but Ron Daley scored a hat-trick to guide Savannah SC to an easy win.

Daley, who finished the regular season tied on 16 goals with Beaches Negril’s Kemar Dawkins, equalised for the home team in the ninth minute, then gave them the lead 10 minutes later before adding a third in the 81st.

In another match that was played in Montego Bay, Beaches Negril secured their place in the league next season with a 4-0 win over Violet Kickers.

Dawkins scored twice in the 28th and 61st minutes after Ricardo Mairs gave them the lead in the 20th minute, while Desmond Montique also scored in the 66th minute.
