BRANDED!
Thursday Life (TL): What do you like most about working at Popeye’s?
Ann Marie Waite (AW): I have a deep passion for the Popeye’s brand and I see its success as my success. I love serving our loyal Popeye’s customers. I also like the standards of the company and that motivates me. I also appreciate the challenges that come with the job of restaurant manager.
Ruthlyn Kerr-Williams (RKW): I like the fact that I’m part of a company that offers a one-of-a-kind flavour in Jamaica. The Cajun flavour is very distinct and only at Popeye’s can our patrons enjoy offerings like Red Beans and Rice and Popcorn Shrimp. The overall atmosphere somehow seems different from other fast foods. Plus, the restaurant team displays dedication and camaraderie that is refreshing. Even our customers appear mellow; as if they are chilling in Louisiana. It’s just a good vibe overall.
(TL): How long have you been in this job?
AW: I have been working with the company for the past 12 years.
RKW: I have been with the company for 12 years.
TL: What attracts consumers to your brand?
Sabrena McDonald-Radcliffe (SMR): Popeye’s is the only quick-service restaurant in Jamaica that offers such a wide variety of flavour. The distinct Cajun flavour can be enjoyed as fried chicken, chicken strips, shrimp, fish and chicken sandwiches. Our side dishes are uniquely delicious and range from fries, red beans and rice, coleslaw, corn and mashed potatoes.
There are customers who are hooked on our chicken, which can be had spicy or mild, and dine at our Constant Spring location more than once per week. Our salads, made fresh every day, have also found favour with our customers.
TL: Where can consumers find out more about your brand?
SMR: Customers can keep track of our promotions on our Facebook page (Facebook.com/popeyesjm). They can also look out for advertisements promoting new products and new offers.
TL: Tell us something we might not know about your brand.
SMR: We recently added some new and tasty dessert options that are not only heavenly but attractively priced at $150. We now have Cinnamon Fried Apple Pie and Blueberry N Lemon Cream Cheese Pie. I am addicted to the apple pie myself!
TL: Do you have any additional news you wish to share with your customers?
SMR: Look out for some exciting new products later this year. We are planning to excite the taste buds of Jamaicans.
Win! Win! Win!
