Champions Kingston Wharves off to winning start in domino tourney
DEFENDING champions Kingston Wharves got off to a winning start in the 2015 National Association of Domino Bodies (NADB) Kingston & St Andrew Region Wray & Nephew White Overproof Rum Business House League last week.
Kingston Wharves, who are also the defending Knockout champions, defeated visitors Bank Of Jamaica (BOJ) 137-112 at King Port Building.
Division Two champions National Commercial Bank (NCB) saw their game against Berger Paints Jamaica Limited postponed. Also postponed was the match between former champions Seprod Limited and Jamaica Fire Brigade.
In other games, the hosts Wray & Nephew Limited edged Gleaner 140-137 in a high-scoring game, Cari-Med defeated JUTC 138-123, while National Baking Company lost 119-137 at home to Campari.
In Division Two, debutantes Digicel got the better of fellow newcomers Urban Development Corporation 109-103 at home at 14 Ocean Boulevard.
Jamaica Observer crushed debutantes Kris An Charles Investment Company 140-103, while Transport Authority eked out a 138-135 victory over Petrojam, Minister Of Finance (MOF) defeated Flow 140-131, Pepsi-Cola Jamaica easily brushed aside Nutrition Products 147-128, and National Housing Trust (NHT) got past newcomers Seaboard Jamaica 121-93.
Round Two takes place today with a full slate of matches in both divisions.
