Hope Road, surrounding areas to be affected by JCF 5k
KINGSTON, Jamaica – The police have advised that several roads in the Hope Road area of St Andrew will be closed to facilitate the staging of the Law Enforcement 5k Run/Walk at the Police Officers Club on Saturday at 6:00 am.
The traffic arrangements will be in place before, during and after the race.
BEFORE THE RACE
Hope Road/Lady Musgrave/East Kings House Road
Hope Road at the intersection with Lady Musgrave Road and East Kings House Road will be temporarily closed between the hours of 5:30 am and 7:30 am Traffic travelling from these roads as well as from the Papine direction heading to Half Way Tree, will be diverted.
Hope Road
Hope Road between Half Way Tree Road and Lady Musgrave Road (Kings House Gate) and all roads leading off will be temporarily closed between the hours of 6:30 am and 7:40 am. This is to facilitate the start of the race of approximately 5000 participants.

Half Way Tree Road
Participants will be to the left and vehicular traffic to the far right; this will be demarcated by barriers. However, Cecille Avenue, Cargill Avenue and Ruthven Road will be closed to vehicular traffic.
Half Way Tree Road/Balmoral Avenue
Traffic using the far right lanes will be diverted unto Balmoral Avenue to avoid any conflict with the participants of the race.
Half Way Tree Road/Chelsea Avenue
Participants of the race will turn unto Chelsea Avenue. Once this is done and the number reduced, vehicular traffic will be allowed to use that section of Half Way Tree Road towards the Cross Roads direction.
Chelsea Avenue
Chelsea Avenue between Half Way Tree Road and Dominica Drive will be closed to vehicular traffic, similarly Dominica Drive between Holborn Road and Knutsford Boulevard.
Knutsford Boulevard
Knutsford Boulevard between Dominica Drive and Trafalgar Road and all off roads leading off will be closed to vehicular traffic.

Trafalgar Road
Trafalgar Road between Knutsford Boulevard, Holborn Road and Haughton Avenue will be closed to vehicular traffic on both sides of Trafalgar Road. This is to facilitate the crossing of the participants from one side of Trafalgar Road to the other into Trafalgar Park.
Lord Nelson Way
This road will be accessible only to the participants in the Torch Run.
Ardenne Road
No traffic will be allowed on this road.
Hope Road/Ardenne Road
Hope Road between Ardenne Road and Police Officers Club will be temporarily closed and manned by Police and race marshals. Race participants will be allowed to proceed intermittently when the opportunity present itself.
