Partying for a cause
ROTARY clubs of New Kingston and St Andrew North will be hosting Rotary & Friends at the Hope Zoo in St Andrew tonight.
Sandra Samuels-Reid, Rotary club of St Andrew North president-elect for 2015/2016, said the event will act as a major fund-raiser for the clubs.
“We will be using the proceeds to get equipment for the woodwork programme at Alpha Boys’ Institute. We’re also planning to set up a barbering programme at the school, so we will need equipment and tools for that programme,” said Samuels-Reid, who is also principal of Totally Male Club Spa and Salon.
The president-elect said proceeds will also be shared with the Rotary Club of New Kingston which will be assisting the Swallowfield Learning Centre.
“So come party in a beautiful location while maintaining your social responsibility,” she said.
To gain access, patrons will have to use the Hope Pastures entrance and donation is $1,000. Drinks and food will be on sale.
“Sparkles Disco will be providing the music and there’ll be a guest DJ. There’ll be giveaways,” she said.
“Rotary is not only about service, but about fellowship and having fun while giving back,” she added.
