Annalisa Richards — This is the time to let loose and experiment with your hair; just remember that regular visits to the salon for deep-conditioning treatments and regular trims are a must to prevent damage.
Nickera Edwards — The season is all about vibrant and cool colours; and hairstyles that cater to the young, wild, and free.
HEADLINE – Trending: Long Bob
The Long Bob or Lob look captures the essence of versatility. A hairstyle that has been on-trend since the early ’90s, it is making a comeback (just don’t call it that) for the modern-day woman who likes a sleek edgy ‘do with sexy collarbone-grazing length. The foundation of this chic look – which is more versatile than a regular bob — is the precise cut with detail on the short cut at the back and longer hair at the front.
Nelsie Myles – I feel great; I feel sexy!
TIP: Excess use of oil will result in dull and lifeless hair, as well as clogged pores.
How to achieve the Lob:
* Shampoo hair to ensure hair is light and airy and has movement.
* Blow-dry hair with a generous amount of anti-frizz smoothing pomade.
* Section hair at the crown.
* Use a ceramic flat iron to straighten hair in a light curve to add body and dimension.
* Comb through and apply pomade or Creme of Nature Argan Oil edge-tamer to control fly-aways.

Maintenance Tip: This look can be worn straight, curly or in a tousled wave pattern. The easiest and most manageable style is to wear hair straight, which means using a flat iron to smooth kinks.
Wrapping hair before bed is the best option for waking up with straight, low-maintenance hair. If you need to straighten with the flat iron, be sure to use a heat-protective spritz and a lightweight moisturiser; and use the flat iron at the lowest heat setting possible. For women with natural hair, it is recommended that you trim those tresses every six weeks.

HEADLINE – Trending: Pastel Hair
The pastel hair trend is in high demand this season, serving as the perfect mix of edge and spunk. At first glance, one would liken pastel hairdos to a look for the young and adventurous; but, with the wide range of pastel shades, any woman can pull off this look — all it takes is a little courage, sass, and a good colourist. For make-up artist Rennay Campbell, getting her electric purple hairstyle was a walk in the park as she has experimented with various colours in the past.
Rennay Campbell – As a cosmetologist, I change my appearance quite often. Today when I walked in, my hair was blue, now it’s purple; I love this purple!
TIP: The key to achieving this look is to start with a pure, almost-white canvas. For a more seamless transition, purchase a blond weave to eliminate the bleaching process. Bear in mind that bleaching can damage your hair.
How to achieve the Pastel look…
* Bond bleached weaves with natural hair.
* Brush on Alpha Par dye in violet, then shampoo.
* Work quickly and be sure to rinse thoroughly.
* Ensure that hair is dried properly so that the colour doesn’t bleed.
* Blow-dry all sections of the hair.
* After completing the colouring process, sew in wefts and razor-cut into a bob.
* Flat-iron hair using a 11/2″ ceramic flat iron to achieve barrel curls.
TIP: A ceramic iron is gentler on the hair and leaves a smoother finish.

Maintenance Tip: Do consult your stylist when ready to wash hair. For best results use a colour-safe shampoo and cold water.
Why?
Because… hot water opens the hair cuticles and causes the colour to bleed.

HEADLINE – Trending: Braids
Known for its versatility, the trend that never dies has resurfaced with fresh new patterns. Jazz up your look with bobby pins! It’s a new trend in hairstyling: place black or coloured pins in the hair in a unique pattern and you’re all set. Office administrator Monique Salabi was next in the salon chair for the braided goddess hairdo. Her thick, lustrous hair was the right length and texture to achieve the look.
Monique Salabi — I like my styles to be simple and natural; something that is low-maintenance… the braided goddess look fits my personality.
TIP: Remove bobby pins and use a silk wrap to keep hair in place at night.
How to achieve the Braided Goddess…
* Shampoo hair with Keracare 1st Lather shampoo followed by Keracare Hydrating Detangling Shampoo.
* Apply Keracare Humecto Crème Conditioner and rinse.
* Apply a smoothing serum, and then give hair a thorough blowout.
* Flat-iron hair to smooth frizz, then part hair at the centre.
* Pull sections from the left side of the centre part and cane-row to the mid-section, then plait hair out to the ends.
* Repeat on the other side of the head.
* Criss-cross braids and use hairpins to hold in place.
* After securing braids, curl leave-outs in a downward spiralling motion. You can opt to wear your tresses straight as well.
TIP: Set hair with flexi rods periodically to retain bounce, and return to your hairstylist after a week for a shampoo and conditioning.

Amanda Seyfried
Hollywood actress Amanda Seyfried delivers French-braid inspirations with a classic hairdo. The ‘it’ girl credits hairstylist Renato Campora — who drew inspirations from the actress’s red chiffon Valentino dress, and created structural braids in the back to give the hairdo a sophisticated touch.
