Othneil Lawrence to represent JLP in North West St Ann

ST ANN, Jamaica – The Jamaica Labour Party delegates of North West St Ann have spoken. Othneil Lawrence will represent them in the next general election.

OBSERVER ONLINE has learned that in results just in from an election held today at the technical campus of Brown’s Town Community College in Discovery Bay, Lawrence got majority votes to win ahead of Karen Chuck and Ivan Anderson.

Lawrence filed a lawsuit against Opposition Leader Andrew Holness and General Secretary Horace Chang last year, forcing the party to abandon plans to remove him as caretaker for the constituency.

OBSERVER ONLINE understands that the atmosphere at the Brown’s Town Community College is tense, as some people are upset about the results.

According to the opposition spokesman, “We must move from labour supply to talent supply. The winners over the next decade will be the countries that transform their workforce the fastest”.
