Farm Village Cafe

Jamaica Observer Table Talk Food Awards judge for the parish of St Catherine, Dwight Scott, adds Farm Village Café, Grant’s Jerk Centre and Reggae City Jerk Village to his culinary gems.

I shouldn’t be reviewing this place because I want to keep it all to myself!

I went there for a friend’s birthday dinner and was completely blown away by the atmosphere, customer service and food. I had the prawns for my entrée, which were cooked to perfection. My next course was the pineapple chicken (another entrée). Dessert was the show-stopper with the most amazing crème brûlée I have ever eaten. Everyone in our group raved about their meals, too. Throughout the evening our glasses were never empty and the wait staff were both friendly and professional. We didn’t have a reservation; however, we were warmly received by the vibrant female maître d’. Our charming waiter, an Old Harbour native, explained each dish slowly, including the specials of the day.

This amazing café is a hidden gem. It has, without a doubt, the best beer and food at the best prices. There is also a nice selection of international beers from over 120 countries globally, which, makes it a global-centric café. Farm Village Café is private, quiet, with a serene landscape that is stamped unspoilt nature. It’s a photographer’s dream. A place in the sun that warrants returning again and again. It was a beautiful day in Old Harbour, and my first time to this gorgeous café that advertised unique dishes such as Beer Battered Blue Cod. The view was heavenly and the food was outstanding and very reasonably priced. Farm Village Café also offers alfresco dining. Sample beautiful wines, local cheeses, freshly caught fish, a menu designed for all appetites, tastes and occasions. With two meandering streams, a spectacular view of the town and hills, and an abundance of native trees and birds, the French provincial-style venue is a unique dining experience.

If you are wondering whether you should visit Farm Village Café, I encourage you to stop contemplating and do yourself a favour and just go.
