Big crowd at Footloose
AFTER nine years, the popular retro party Footloose continues to pull big numbers with each staging. Promoted by Broadway Productions, the most recent instalment the Short Shorts edition was held at the Mas in St Andrew, last Saturday.
According to promoter Tyrone Dixon, the event has evolved since its first staging in 2006.
“We started out with 200 patrons and now we have over 4,000 patrons. This is undoubtedly Jamaica’s number one retro party,” said Dixon.
Last week’s staging saw DJ Arif Cooper, ZJ Liquid and first-timer DJ Vice Goodn.
The musical selections comprised dance, disco, rhythm and blues, hip hop, reggae, dancehall and soca.
Dixon said the brand’s appeal and consistency in providing an exceptional musical experience was significant in keeping patrons coming out.
“We try to keep the event fresh and appealing and with lots of promotion. We do not promote who our DJs are, but patrons know that Footloose never disappoints when it comes to the music,” said Dixon.
Held four times each year, the next staging of the Footloose retro party is scheduled for August 29 at the same venue.
