Courts Jamaica expands Ready Cash to non-customers
COURTS is expanding its footprint in the financial space, and is now lending up to $110,000 to qualifying non-customers via its existing Courts Ready Cash product.
The furniture store, which operates under Unicomer Jamaica Limited, says the service is now available to family and friends of Courts customers and can be accessed at three of its stores: Cross Roads in Kingston, Portmore and Montego Bay locations.
The number of locations will expand next March, when non-Courts customers will be able to access the service at several other major locations islandwide.
Courts Ready Cash initially started in 2010 as a short-term consumer loan product for ‘the best paying customers’ who needed cash for personal use. Currently, customers are able to borrow up to $200,000.
“Due to a high demand for the service; which includes flexibility for customers to choose their payment plan with no security needed, a decision was taken to extend Courts Ready Cash to the wider market that includes non-Courts customers as of June 2nd,” the company stated in a release.
According to the company, customers seeking financial aid for medical expenses, school expenses or personal use will benefit from the consumer cash loan offering.
New customers have a maximum loan amount up to $110,000 with up to 12 months to repay, while existing customers have a maximum loan amount up to $200,000 with up to 24 months to repay.
Established in the region since 1959, Courts is one of the area’s largest retailers of furniture, appliances, electrical products and eyewear.
