THREE HORSES CLAIMED ON SATURDAY
Three horses were claimed on the nine-race programme at Caymanas Park on Saturday, all from the day’s final event. The Paul Smith-trained Concrete Jungle was claimed by Lorne Kirlew for Robert Byers for $350,000; Aquilo was also taken from Smith by Neive Graham for O’Shaun Connection for $350,000; and Eternal Joy was claimed from Leroy Tomlinson by Carl Anderson acting as both trainer and owner, also for $350,000.

TRACKING CHANGES OF EQUIPMENT
There were four instances on Saturday’s nine-race programme were changes in equipment seemed to have made the difference between winning and losing.
Trainer Donovan Plummer put the tongue tie on Starofthetown who released the maiden tag. With Aaron Chatrie in the saddle, Starofthetown ran out a fairly comfortable one-and-three-quarter length winner over Onefineafternoon going 1,000 metres straight.
With the removal of the figure eight by trainer Spencer Chung, Phalaenopsis, ridden by Romario Saunders, was an easy six-and-a-half-length winner in a non-winners of two event going over 1,100 metres. It was Chung’s first victory for the year from 32 starts. “It feels good…it always feels good to win a race. Phalaenopsis was lame before as he turned over in a trailer going to the sea one morning, but it took a while for him to come around and to win here today (Saturday) and I am just happy for him,” Chung told the Complete Racing Guide. In the fifth race, the introduction of the visor with first-time Lasix did the trick for Mr Marley. Trained by Gary Subratie and ridden by Aaron Chatrie, Mr Marley got home by a neck over Sweet Dimension in a driving finish in a maiden special-weight race in 1:09:0 minutes over 1,100 metres. Trainer Fitzory Glispie put the cheek pieces on Go To Hell (Paul Francis) and the result was a two-and-a-half-length victory going over 1,500 metres.

TIMEFORARMS GETS THERE
In a show of versatility, the Fitzory Glispie-conditioned Timeforarms came with a strong run in deep stretch to win the 1,200-metre Thoroughbred Racing Hall of Fame Trophy.
With Omar Walker in the saddle, Timeforarms (Twilight Time – Armsofanangel), who would prefer it longer, raced with the backmarkers for most of the way before he stormed through on the rails turning for home and got up in time to beat Hover Craft and Traditional Prince by one-and-a-quarter lengths in 1:13:0 minutes. “We had two horses in the race, but we weren’t sure if Mom’s Student would keep up with Talented Tony in the early part of the race as he has 22:0, 45:0 seconds in his feet, but once the race went that fast we knew that Timeforarms would be coming for them at the end and he did just that,” Glispie said.

CHATRIE, SAUNDERS ON THE DOUBLE
Jockey Aaron Chatrie and apprentice Romario Saunders dominated Saturday’s nine-race programme by riding two winners each. Chatrie’s winners were Starofthetown, who romped the first race, and Mr Marley, who won the fifth race. Saunders won aboard Phalaenopsis (second race) and Star New Vista (fourth race). With those doubles, Chatrie took his tally to 23 winners, while Saunders was winning his third race for the season.
