Refresh Tour starts with a bang
PORTMORE’S Famous Night Club was transformed into a sea of blue and red as Pepsi Cola Jamaica hosted an exclusive party to entertain its fans and loyal consumers, last Saturday.
The event, dubbed the Pepsi Refresh Tour, is the first in the series of parties by the beverage manufacturer in an effort to reach out to its local consumers.
Mitchell Watson, Pepsi’s marketing manager, said he was happy with the event.
“Our consumers came out and enjoyed every minute of the Pepsi Refresh concert. The performances were amazing and I want to say hats off to everyone who made the event a success,” he told the Jamaica Observer.
The Refresh Tour got underway approximately 10:00 pm with early ‘juggling’ by popular sound system Coppershot, which built the momentum for the entertainment package in store.
Television personality Talia Soares, the evening’s host, took the stage minutes after midnight to officially kick off the night’s live performances.
First on stage was My Destination singer Zagga, who delivered a splendid performance, for the appreciative patrons. Female artistes Denyque and Raine Seville followed.
The entertainment went up a notch when Personally singer, Kalado came on stage. Delivering his hits, including Take a Ride and Make Me Feel, the dancehall artiste revved up the vibes in the St Catherine night club.
Soulful singing sensation Ikaya showed her diversity and melodious styles with tracks including Fly Away, Ain’t Giving Up, Hard Way, and Ugly Girl.
To climax the night’s performance was the Way Up, Stay Up singer Chi Ching Ching. Known for his high-energy vibes, Chi Ching Ching had the entire club ‘Watching the Wire’, his latest dance move.
All acts returned on stage to join Chi Ching Ching in singing a new and catchy LIVE FOR NOW Pepsi theme song, with a reggae twist.
The second Pepsi Refresh Tour is scheduled for the lawns of Hope Gardens in St Andrew, on July 4. The Refresh Tour is slated to culminate at Reggae Sumfest in July.
