Dustin Brown to face Nadal in second round
Former Jamaican Davis Cup representative Dustin Brown will face many times Grand Slam champion Rafael Nadal of Spain in the second round of the men’s singles draw at Wimbledon in England.
The 30-year-old Brown, who had dropped to number 102 on the ATP rankings, beat Chinese player Yen-Hsun Lu in four sets 3-6, 6-3, 7-5, 6-4 yesterday and will have to pull off one of the biggest upsets if he is to match his best ever run at the All England Club when he got to the third round in 2013.
Nadal, who is ranked number 10 at Wimbledon, also advanced yesterday after beating Brazilian Thomaz Bellucci in straight sets 6-4, 6-2, 6-4.
Brown has struggled this year, getting past the first round in a tournament only once, when he lost in the second round of the Gerry Weber Open.
