Manchioneal shock Eagle Strikers for Portland FA PCU U20 title
PORT ANTONIO, Portland — Manchioneal shocked high-riding Eagle Strikers 3-2 to claim the Portland Football Association Portland Credit Union Under-20 competition at Boundbrook Oval on Saturday.
Manchioneal’s Levaughn McKay in the ninth, Warren Lewis in the 14th and Javere Blake in the 55th connected for the victors, while Johnnoy Brown on the stroke of half-time, and Tejaurin Williams four minutes later replied for Boundbrook.
Manchioneal started out aggressively and took the lead when Lewis was taken down outside the penalty area. The resultant free kick by Levaughn McKay went over the wall and past custodian Glenroy Osbourne.
Manchioneal went further ahead when Warren Lewis picked up a ball just outside the penalty area, moved inside and fired to the left of a helpless Osbourne.
Both teams launched a number of attacks as Eagle Strikers pulled one back on the stroke of half-time when Johnnoy Brown slotted home from close range.
Shortly after the resumption, Eagle Strikers levelled the scores when Javiah Champinai handled the ball inside the penalty area and referee Dave Martin pointed to the spot. Captain Tejaurn Williams made no mistake from the spot.
But Manchioneal resumed the lead when Javere Blake fired home from inside the penalty area to condemn Eagle Strikers to their first loss in the competition.
